Here are a few of the quesitons we are most often asked about career and volunteer opportunities at Elim. If your question is not answered here please Contact us
Where can I find current vacancies?
Our Current vacancies page has details of both job and volunteer opportunities.
I’m really interested in one of your jobs, how can I apply for it?
You will need to apply online. Carefully read the job advert you are interested in and follow the instructions. Each vacancy will clearly state if a CV and covering letter or an application form are required to apply for the job.
If you are not able to apply online or need a printed copy of the application form please Contact us with the job you’re interested in and your address. We’ll pop an application form (including job description and person specification) in the post to you.
For volunteer opportunities contact our HR team on 0145 411172 (option 6) or email HR@elimhousing.co.uk
How long do I have to submit my application?
There’s a closing date for all applications. The date will be listed with the job on the website and in the information pack.
Do I have the right skills for the job?
Here at Elim, we focus on individual’s potential and talent development. Each vacancy has a person specification, explaining what we’d look for in the person filling the position, and a job description.
If you think you have what it takes to do the job, we would love to hear from you! Make sure that your covering letter or application form clearly show why you think you are the best person for the job and what you could bring to Elim.
Volunteer positions will also list the types of skills and experience we are looking for. You are not expected to have all of these as we can help you develop them during your time with us. If you are not sure if you have the skills for the role please just ask us.
How will I know if you’ve received my application form?
We send a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of all applications received by email. We will not send a confirmation for applications received by post.
How will I know if I’m successful?
If your application is successful, we will contact you to invite you to interview. This will be usually done a few days before the interview date shown in the job advert.
Volunteers will also usually be asked to meet with us prior to starting a placement. This is not a formal interview but an opportunity to discuss the role and expectations in more detail.
I can’t download and view the documents, what can I do?
The documents are all saved in Microsoft Word (.docx) format. If you struggle downloading any documents, please send us and email to HR@elimhousing.co.uk and we can send you the document in a different format.
Can you keep my details on record and let me know when suitable jobs become available?
Yes! If you’d like us to do this, complete the Keep in touch form at the bottom of our Current vacancies page.
How long do you hold my information?
If you’re successful, your CV or application form will be the basis of your personal file.
If you’re unsuccessful, we’ll keep it on file for six months from the closing date. We’ll only pass your application form on to be considered for other posts after contacting you.
