Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation

Elim Housing have been involved in the management and provision of homes for the Gypsy & Traveller community since 2012. We own sites in Bath and Weston Super Mare and manage other sites on behalf of North Somerset and Bristol City councils. We are keen to expand our provision and management of homes in this sector and are speaking to interested local authorities. We currently have responsibility for the following sites:

Greenfields Way, Weston Super Mare

This site was completed in May 2015. It consists of 24 permanent pitches, each of which consists of a utility block with bath/shower room and a living area with space for utilities. There is a hardstanding area with room for two caravans on most pitches and separate space for car parking. Each pitch is connected for electricity and water.  There is a site office with a meeting room which can be used by residents, support services and other connected local agencies for meetings or training.

Lettings and allocations are co-ordinated through the homechoice system by North Somerset council. Gypsies and Travellers can register at www.homechoicensomerset.org.uk.

North Somerset

Elim Housing also manages sites for North Somerset Council which include another 7 permanent pitches on a site at Willowmead in Weston Super Mare and three other single pitches on sites across North Somerset.

Carrswood View, Bath

This site was completed in 2015 at Lower Bristol Road, Bath. It consists of 8 permanent pitches and 5 transit pitches. All pitches have individual utility blocks with toilet/shower facilities and a separate living area. The pitches vary in size but there is room for two caravans on most of them. They are all connected for electricity and water.  Allocations for the permanent pitches are organised by Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) council. Gypsies and Travellers can register for these pitches at homesearch@bathnes.gov.uk or get further details via telephone on 01225 396118.

The transit pitches are provided for short term use. They have the same facilities as the permanent pitches but are only available to rent for periods of up to 3 months. Gypsies and Travellers can register an interest or place their names on the waiting list by contacting Elim Housing on info@elimhousing.co.uk  or via telephone on 01454 411172.
