Ron Jones House to Open Pizzeria after winning £10k from St Martin's Frontline Network Ideas Board
Ron Jones House have announced plans to open its very own pop-up pizzeria, after winning £10k funding from the Ideas Board of St Martin's Frontline Network.
The Frontline Network exists to harness the ideas, energy and experience of those at the front-line, working with homeless and vulnerably housed people.
After months of planning, Ron Jones' Darren Rowland's announced the news last week:
"The restaurant will create a space for paying customers to come into Ron Jones House and break down barriers with private landlords and estate agents".
The Ron Jones team will work in conjunction with Tales by the Oven, a popup pizzeria tackling homelessness in Bristol. The team first began working with Tales by the Oven last year, when founders Ben Richardson and Antonio Danzi ran a pizza making workshop for Ron Jones residents.
Darren said the visits "started a process of empowering clients by teaching them various skills" and thanked the Tales by the Oven team who have helped an idea become reality.
Well done to Darren and the Ron Jones Team! - we're looking forward to a taste.
