The Forecastle provides a safe, secure and welcoming environment for residents who have experienced or who are at risk of homelessness and have additional support needs.
We provide accommodation based housing related support from a team of experienced staff who are trained to help residents move onto independent living.
The support we provide
We accept referrals from single people aged 18-65 who have medium support needs.
We provide housing related support and work closely with partner agencies that can provide other specialist support services in areas such as drug and alcohol, mental health, re-offending.
Together with their key worker residents indentify their support needs in 1:1 sessions and work on support plans to make progress, these are reviewed regularly using the Outcome Star.
We hold regular residents meetings and have group activities facilitated by staff and outside agencies around budgeting, debt, training, healthy living, move-on options, food and nutrition.
We facilitate the Elim Skills for Life programme.
Accommodation is offered to residents for a maximum period of two years, with a view to moving people on before this time, as soon as they are ready for independent living.
The Forecastle is close to Thornbury and on a bus route to Bristol. There are 17 Single bedrooms at the Forecastle with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.
On site we have 2 staff offices, shared laundry facilities, a communal room with computers and internet access, large garden and a pool table. There is CCTV in our communal areas.
The Forecastle is a great place to live because....
We provide a safe place to live whilst residents build up the skills they need to live independently.
Our staff team is committed to helping residents achieve their dreams and aspirations. We work in a psychologically informed way and residents are encouraged to be part of that process to help create an environment for positive change.
We encourage resident involvement at all levels and have a high level of tenant participation. We listen to resident feedback and work with residents to improve the service we provide.
We have computers internet access for residents to use for personal use and for looking for move on accommodation or work.
We also work closely with other professional agencies so ensure residents with additional needs are supported and can maintain their tenancies.
