Elim Appoints New Group Head of Development

Peter Crouch, formerly Head of Development for the southwest at one of the largest social housing providers in the UK, Stonewater, has taken on the role as Group Head of Development at Elim Housing as part of its ongoing ambitious growth plans.

Peter, who is well respected throughout the industry, brings with him unrivalled experience across the housing sector. At Stonewater, Peter was responsible for a delivery of over 250 homes per annum as well as identifying and securing new business. He hopes to use his experience to bolster the ambition of The Elim Group and help drive it forward into new business areas achieving it’s vision ‘to meet housing need and deliver homes that change people’s lives.’

Paul Smith, Elim Housing CEO said: “Elim has enjoyed continued growth across a diverse range of provision including Gypsy, Roma Traveller, general needs, supported housing and specialist supported housing and Peter’s appointment cements our passion and drive to keep the business moving in a positive direction.

Peter’s reputation as an experienced and respected professional, precedes him, and having previously held a senior development role within a national housing group is testament to the skills and attributes he is sure to bring to our team.”

Peter was impressed with the passion and drive shown by the Elim team and felt his skillset can help support Elim’s objectives as it moves forward.

He said: “Elim has an impressive reputation across the sector for it’s specialist services and as the largest national provider of Gypsy, Roma & Traveller accommodation. Despite its growth it has not forgotten its core values and supporting the many communities it works in, which attracted me greatly to the position.

The housing sector is in a constant state of flux as we well know with only 1,695 homes for social rent being built last year in the southwest, compared with an annual need of at least 8,300. I believe Elim can offer real solutions in delivering these much-needed homes and its past record has shown it can do so to a very high standard.

There’s never been a more exciting time to be a part of Elim’s story – with so many developments underway and in the pipeline. I cannot wait to get started and to make a positive difference to people lives.”
